Please make sure to read the legal notice before downloading GeneStudio software!
GSProSetup.exe (13.2 MB)
Current version: 2.1.1.5 released December 13, 2007
Installation instructions:
If you have a previous version of GeneStudio Pro on your computer,
please uninstall it using the Control Panel Add or Remove Programs applet.
You may need to reboot your computer after removing the old version and after
installing a new version.
Click the icon above to download the GeneStudio Pro setup program to your computer. After downloading, please run GSProSetup.exe
from the location you saved it and follow the prompts of the setup program.
On computers running Windows 2000 or Windows XP Professional you
will need to be a member of the "Administrators" group to install GeneStudio Pro.
The licensing subsystem requires write permission to the "Program
Files\GeneStudio\Programs" folder. If you use GeneStudio Pro on Windows 2000 or
on Windows XP Professional and if this folder is on an NTFS partition, the GeneStudio
installer sets such permissions for all users (Everyone). However, if your computer is a member of a domain, these settings may be overwritten by your domain policy. If the license information in GeneStudio's
Help/About dialog shows that the license is "expired or invalid", please ask
your domain administrator to grant write permissions for you to the folder
mentioned above.
After installation, select GeneStudio from the GeneStudio group in Start/Programs to run the program.
On the splash screen, please press the "Request a free evaluation license"
button. Your web browser will open the GeneStudio Trial
license form. Fill out and submit the form. A trial license code will be sent to
you by email. Please do not use a throwaway email address such as HotMail,
Yahoo, or GMail but rather use your company email address. We will not share
your email address with anyone and this address may come handy when you decide
to purchase GeneStudio. If you are using spam filtering software, please ensure
that you can receive email from GeneStudio so you can receive your trial code.
Please check the
Tips & Tricks page for help with several issues reported by users.
GeneStudio Pro will function for 60 days after entering the trial
license code. After expiration of the trial license, only the SeqVerter component will be accessible (the program will revert to GeneStudio LE). You will need to register (purchase GeneStudio
Pro) to continue using the Pro components of GeneStudio.
Important note for Network Administrators
GeneStudio is fully network aware and can be run on client computers from a server on both Microsoft and
NetWare (Novell) networks. This functionality is not available in the trial version. Network licensing options include a floating license system that includes a user queuing facility.
